Pittsburg
Multiple Courts Around The City

This may be my laziest post yet as I am experimenting between taking videos/pictures of basketball courts vs. actually playing pickup basketball. I have quickly concluded that playing basketball is way more fun and meaningful, so this will be my last city (along with Austin) where I did not play basketball.
I had some time to spare before an (basketball) event on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning and instead of sitting around at the hotel, I decided to spend the next hour driving to my destination while stopping at every basketball court along the way. Luckily for me, there was no shortage of basketball courts to choose from. It actually reminded me of the Traveling Salesman Problem, but with basketball courts.
I’ll admit I did absolutely no research on what the pickup basketball scene looked like in Pittsburg (another reason why playing is so much better), and instead just googled basketball courts on google maps.
I visited 6 basketball courts in total. You can find them all here
East Hills Park
Mooreland Kemets Basketball Courts
Dallas Parklet
Upper Frick Park
Davis Playground
Kennard Playground
East Hills Park
Lights to play at night!
Watch out for snakes at this park!
Mooreland Kemets Basketball Courts
Two courts for twice the fun
Dallas Parklet
Small hidden court behind a playground
Upper Frick Park
Probably the best maintained courts so far with a LOT of other activities around
Davis Playground
Interesting setup as they force 2 hoops to be half courts
Kennard Playground (You won't believe what's at the end...clickbait)
I was surprised to see that the last court turned out to be a really nice court with glass/clear backboards and stands to watch games
Conclusion
Again, apologies for not playing on any of these basketball courts as I have learned my lesson that it is way more fulfilling to play pickup basketball while traveling.
Though, did you notice something peculiar about all the videos above?
There was no one playing on them. Does Pittsburg have a big basketball scene? or just a big basketball court scene?
